It's Never Easy Changing Direction...

"Trust You" By Brandon Heath

I can’t walk without watching where I’m going
I can’t speak without knowing what to say
I can’t love without any hesitation,
‘cause I know that you don’t work that way
I can’t reach without something to offer
I can’t come now, I am so ashamed
I can’t hold out for you any longer,
‘cause I know that you don’t work that way

I’m not gonna fight you anymore
I’m not gonna try to lock the door
You took your life and gave me yours
There’s no reason why, I shouldn’t trust you with mine

It’s never easy changing direction
It’s so unnatural to loosen up my grip
Are you growing weary, of all my good intentions,
‘cause I know that you don’t work that way

I’m not gonna fight you anymore
I’m not gonna try to lock the door
You took your life and gave me yours
There’s no reason why, I shouldn’t trust you with mine

Some days this weight upon my shoulders
is my shame I know I should know better
‘Cause you say that I must now surrender, there’s no other way

I’m not gonna fight you anymore
I’m not gonna try to lock the door
I needed life, you gave me yours
You took your life and gave me yours
There’s no reason why, I shouldn’t trust you with mine

I’m not gonna fight you anymore
I’m not gonna try to lock the door
You took your life and gave me yours
There’s no reason why, no good reason why
I shouldn’t trust you with mine

My Life

I love waking up in the morning to the reassurance that I get another day and another chance to live my life for the Lord...

I love listening to K-LOVE as I get ready for work so I can focus my heart and mind on the positive way I can influence others throughout my day...

I love smiling real big to all the people who I pass on the road who look miserable that they are on their way to work...

I love going to my job knowing that I can make a difference in someone's life that day...

I love being challenged in different ways that I know if I choose the right way, I can stand out above my peers and hopefully point them towards the Lord...

I love just sitting down with a co-worker or my boss or a good friend and talking about the things that matter in life, such as relationships, loving people, faith, God...

I love calling all my close friends on my way home from work just to tell them I am thinking of them and miss them and love them...

I love going to Community Group and sharing life together with a group of ten others who love and live for the same God as I do...

I love using my gifts and talents for the Lord when I get to run media at church...

I love spending quality time with my friends one on one and really finding out what is going on in their life beneath the surface...

I love going to church on Sundays and feeling like the Lord is speaking directly to me through a song's lyrics or through the sermon...

I love coming home late at night and looking up to the heavens and seeing the stars and the bright moon and knowing that my Lord created all of that beauty...

I love laying down at night knowing that when my emotions and thoughts become overwhelming, the Lord knows what is in my heart and is there to comfort me if only I reach out and call His name.

Food for Thought

Excerpts from the book Captivating by John and Stasi Eldredge.

"Why do so few women have anything close to a life of romance? Loneliness and emptiness are far more common themes--so entirely common that most women buried their longings for romance long ago and are now living merely to survive, get through the week. And it's not just romance--why are most of the relationships of women fraught with hardship? Their friendships, their families, their best friends all seem to have come down with a sort of virus that makes them fundamentally unavailable, leaving a woman lonely at the end of the day. Even when relationships are good, it's never enough. Where does this bottomless pit in us come from?"

"We hide because we are afraid. We have been wounded and wounded deeply. People have sinned against us and we have sinned as well. To hide means to remain safe, to hurt less. At least that is what we think. And so by hiding, we take matters into our own hands. We don't return to our God with our broken and desperate hearts. And it has never occurred to us that in all our hiding, something precious is also lost--something the world needs from us so very, very much."
