I just finished the book Gospel by JD Greear, the pastor of The Summit Church in Raleigh, NC. The whole book is written around this prayer as a way to bring the Gospel to the center of our lives and hearts. It was a great book, and I would recommend it to anyone.
"In Christ, there is nothing I can do that would make You love me more,
and nothing I have done that makes You love me less."
"Your presence and approval are all I need for everlasting joy."
"As you have been to me, so I will be to others."
"As I pray, I'll measure Your compassion by the cross
and Your power by the resurrection."
The Gospel is not about the things we can do for Christ. It is about responding to what God has done for us. I pray that I will keep the Gospel at the center of everything I am.
