Transformation

" Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" 2 Corinthians 5:17

I love seeing transformation in people. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and become born-again believers, we are transformed. We must accept Jesus; He doesn't force himself on us. It's a choice for us. But once we make that decision, life will never be and is never the same. We are claimed by God as His children, and our lives are radically changed. We view things differently, we see the world through a new lens. We view people differently. Our priorities change, what we spend our time and money on, and practically everything. Our old life passes away. New life enters our soul and spirit.

Observing this process of life change is so powerful! One friend of mine had a Saul to Paul transformation, Remember Paul? He once persecuted Christians endlessly and after his experience with the living God, He became an all-out disciple of Christ who we recognize as the author of many books in the Bible! My friend had this type of transformation. He went from practically hating all Christians and hating God to being a committed member and volunteer of his church who shares his faith with everyone!

I have another friend who is going through the same transformation, just at a different pace. Watching the Lord slowly change her heart and draw her into His unconditional loving relationship is so beautiful. The transformation hasn't been one of instant, radical change, but a slow gradual, beautiful process. The Lord tugged on her heart to finally say "yes" to a church invitation after many many invites. After attending church for the first time in years, she even initiated and asked ME if she could come back next week. Umm, ABSOLUTELY!!! I have been praying for this dear friend for about two years now and am beyond words excited to see her heart start to desire the Lord more and more. I feel honored and blessed to get to walk along these individuals in their faith walks, and to have them as friends.

"Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him." Psalm 34:8
